Prop 215 (CA)

California Proposition 215, also known as the Medical Use of Marijuana Initiative or Compassionate Use Act, passed in 1996, authorizing the legal sale and possession of cannabis for medical purposes.
With the abundance of benefits of CBD in particular, medical cannabis has become a major method of maintaining health. Although cannabis is still illegal at the federal level, the State of California is one of a growing number that makes cannabis legally available to patients and their primary caregivers to own and grow cannabis for their medical use.
In addition, these rules authorize and regulate cannabis production, cannabis distribution, cannabis cultivators, cannabis manufacturing, cannabis testing, cannabis dispensaries, and for-profit transportation, with permits required from local and state agencies.
