Phenotype

The phenotype is the physical expression of the genetic makeup of a plant, such as trichome density, leaf color, the length between nodes, flower structure, and stem thickness.
In terms of cannabis cultivation, the phenotype determines the appearance, taste, or intensity of the variety. When a female plant is fertilized by a male plant, two mother plants produce the seeds of the strain which includes genetic phenotypes of both. Since people like the diverse traits of different strains, cannabis growers can create a specific strain based on preferred phenotypic characteristics.
