Frit

The frit is a ceramic glass which has been premixed from raw mineral powder, then melted, cooled by soaking in water and ground into a fine powder.

Also, the frit is a technique of glassware that is packed in crude pieces of broken, colored glass between layers of clear glass, creating a spinning effect. It gives the appearance of having a texture while being smooth to the touch. The process requires several layers of glass, so frit pipes are generally thicker and more durable than ordinary ones.
