Dewaxing is the process of removing waxes and lipids from cannabis concentrates or any butane solvent to increase purity and create a more stable product. Lipids and waxes are found naturally in the plant, in varying amounts from one cultivar to another, and can affect the appearance and flavor of a concentrate.

The dewaxing method generally uses carbon dioxide snow which forces the lipids or waxes to separate from the mixture filled with solvent and produces a more condensed and pure concentrate, and creates a cleaner and much more powerful end product.
