Thank you for your willingness to present at The Cannabis Marketing Masters Virtual Summit! We cannot serve attendees and members of the community without your expert knowledge, experience, and contributions.
Please do take the time to read through this speaker manual and guide. All the information here has been created just for you — to serve as a resource for your speaking session, and help you get the most out of your experience and deliver an exceptional presentation.
Great Speakers, A Great Experience
Cannabis Stack brings together select speakers and sponsors, and an interested and relevant audience, together with the right promotional activities. Our goal? To create a remarkable experience for everyone.
As a member of the Cannabis industry and a featured presenter, you are relied on to provide relevant, impactful, and original content that helps attendees return to their organizations with new ideas and helps them prepare for what the future brings in Cannabis Marketing.
This speaker resource page was designed to (hopefully) answer all your questions, and to help you create a memorable experience, not just another webinar.
We are here to help and Radina is the Event Manager and will be your point of contact for the summit. If you have any questions or need assistance, reach out to radina@www.cannabisstack.com.
We need a number of items from you for both the summit and its promotion. All requested materials, unless otherwise indicated, should be sent to radina@www.cannabisstack.com.
For the benefit of everyone involved, please review and electronically sign the Speaker Agreement. This outlines obligations for both you, the speaker, and us, the organizer. Please see the section Important Dates & Deadlines for the due date.
Your biography and photo will appear on the event website, your speaker page and various promotional activities.
The assets include:
Please see the section Important Dates & Deadlines for the due date for these items.
Once you send these items we will build out your speaker page and send you a link. We will ask you to review the information that has been provided and if you would like to make an update to any of your assets, please contact our Event Manager.
Please provide a proposed topic for your speaker presentation. We will be working with you and the other presenters to create a comprehensive program that will be relevant to a mixed audience of marketing professionals (Marketing Directors and Managers and the like) and entrepreneurs and startups in the Cannabis industry that are either marketing directly to consumers or other businesses within the industry.
We likely discussed a topic on our information call, we will work with you to hone in on a topic and style that is a benefit to everyone involved.
Please send your proposed topic the Event Manager. Please see the section Important Dates & Deadlines for the due date for these items.
Please make sure your session is what was agreed upon and committed to during the planning phase. Be sure your session includes fresh and original content. Please educate, don’t sell – even the best insights fall flat when they are coupled with a sales pitch.
You have 25-30 minutes to deliver your presentation, engage the audience, share your knowledge, and answer questions. These tips will help make your delivery efficient and engaging:
We recommend you take advantage of the engagement features available to you during your session. It will help attendees feel like they are a part of a larger group/purpose but use them for real fact finding or creating a sense of community. Options:
Please plan to create an exceptional attendee experience for The Cannabis Marketing Masters Summit. Additionally, all speakers are requested to provide a value-add or take-away for attendees to accompany their session. Some ideas may be a checklist, model, template, article, survey, whitepaper, etc. that relate to their session and will help attendees apply the concepts presented and can serve as means to grow your list.
Тhe Cannabis Marketing Masters Summit is meant to serve as a resource for marketing in the Cannabis industry to help everyone grow their business.
We believe in the power of sharing and we will be sharing all presentations for free for the first 24 hours after the live event.
This is why we would be asking you, as a speaker to help us spread the word about the Summit
Let everyone know you’re speaking at the Conference! It’s a big deal! Follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. We’re keeping an eye on your posts and will share (the love). The hashtag #CMM2020 is set up and ready for promotion!
And you can help with the Co-promotion to your audience by:
Assets and copy will be provided by the summit organizer. Speakers can use the provided texts and assets or use their own based on what is best for their audience.
We will be promoting this to our audience and putting our marketing dollars to get you the type of participants that will matter for your business. That said, the more participants we get for each other the better impact this will have for all of us.
All presentations must use the provided PowerPoint or Keynote Template (coming soon) for their Summit Session.
Print out or write down your notes, do not rely on digital notes as it takes time to toggle back and forth between screens. As you present and hit each point, cross them out or have 1-2 points per sheet for you to easily track where you are.
Practice presenting before your live presentation. Practicing in advance will help eliminate nerves, help you manage your time to ensure you are not running over your time limit and will help ensure you do not speak too fast or too slow.
Get plenty of sleep the night prior to your presentation. Take care of your voice, avoid a lot of caffeine and dairy at least 3-4 hours before you present.
Dress appropriately, avoid wearing attire or accessories that are distracting to the audience and if you are wearing headphones, avoid wearing jewelry or accessories that could cause interference or sound feedback for the attendees.
Reboot your computer a few hours before you do the recording to avoid any automated updates that could launch during your recording.
Consider using headphones, headphones help with sound clarity and help eliminate any background noise. Avoid using a cell phone as your speaker.Make sure your video is in the center of your screen and on speaker view, this allows for an appearance that you are always looking at the audience.
Play to the camera, do not angle your camera too low or too high. Too low may give you the appearance of a double chin, and too high makes it difficult for eye contact. Ensure your shoulders and the crown of your head are in the frame.
We encourage you to close all other windows and applications on your computer during the time of your session.
We will need a video recording of your session with both your presentation and yourself on the screen.
First, you will have to decide what software you will use to shoot your video session. There are plenty of free options out there but if you have not done this before we recommend you get the OBS Studio. It is free and open-source software that works with Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Here is an instructional video for you on how to install and set-up your camera, screen recording, sound, and all the rest in the software.
The video file must be saved in MP4 format and your session should not exceed 45 minutes, where the minimum you should cover must be 25 minutes.
Your recording must be in HD(High-definition) or FHD ( Full High-definition) quality. The resolution must be as following:
As the files are expected to be large we will be sending you individual DropBox links in order to move the files around.
The hashtag #cmmsummit2020 is set up and ready for promotion!
